Offport

Privacy policy

We treat what you submit as sensitive business information. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have.

1. Who we are

This website is operated by Offport (“Offport”, “we”).

For privacy questions or requests, contact hello@offport.in.

2. Information we collect

What you submit. When you submit a requirement, supply profile or message, we collect the information you enter: your name, company, job title, country, business email, phone or WhatsApp number, website, LinkedIn profile and preferred contact method; and commercial information such as products, specifications, quantities, origins, destinations, terms, timing and context. We also record which consent statements you agreed to, their wording and the time.

Technical information. To prevent abuse, we process your IP address to apply rate limits and store only a salted, one-way hash of it with your submission. We also store your browser’s user-agent string with the submission.

Attribution. With a submission we record the page where you opened the form, the page you first landed on, the referring website (without its query string) and any campaign (UTM) tags in the link you followed.

Analytics — only with your consent. If you accept analytics, we record anonymous events such as “form step completed”, with coarse properties like product category, country code or step number. Analytics never include your name, email, phone number, company name or the text you write.

On your device. While you fill in a form, your answers are saved in your browser’s local storage so you do not lose them. This draft stays on your device, is not sent to us until you submit, is deleted when you submit and expires after seven days. You can remove it at any time with “Start over”.

3. How we use it

  • To review your submission and contact you about it.
  • To identify relevant buyers and suppliers and, only with your consent, make an introduction.
  • To understand demand and supply in aggregate — for example, which products and trade routes generate interest — and to improve our services.
  • To keep the website secure and prevent spam and abuse.

4. Legal bases

Where data-protection law requires a legal basis, we rely on your consent (to be contacted, to be introduced, and for analytics), on our legitimate interests (security, abuse prevention and aggregate analysis), and on steps taken at your request before entering into an agreement.

5. Sharing and disclosure

We do not sell your information and we do not publish it. Public examples on this site are fictional and labelled.

Before any introduction, we share only non-identifying details of a requirement or supply. We share your identity and contact details with another buyer or supplier only when you have agreed to that specific introduction.

We use service providers to operate the website — such as hosting, database, email notification and analytics providers — who process information on our behalf. We may disclose information where required by law.

6. International transfers

Our service providers may process information in countries other than yours.

7. Retention

We keep submissions for as long as needed for the purposes above and then delete or anonymise them. You can ask us to delete your submission at any time.

8. Your rights and choices

Depending on where you are, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export your information, to object to or restrict its use, and to withdraw consent at any time. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that already took place.

To exercise these rights, contact us using the details above and include your submission reference if you have it. You can change analytics choices at any time from cookie settings.

9. Security

Submissions are sent over encrypted connections, validated on our servers and stored with access limited to the Offport team and the service providers that support us. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.

10. Business use

This website is intended for businesses and their representatives. It is not directed at children.

11. Changes to this policy

We update this page if our practices change.
